What we never ask for
We do not ask for and do not want government identification numbers, dates of birth, health information or card numbers. Card details are entered on the certified payment page of our payment provider and are never transmitted to, processed by or stored on our systems.
3. Children
This shop is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. Nobody under 13 may create an order or submit a form. Between 13 and 17, use of this site and any purchase requires the consent of a parent or guardian, and the parent or guardian is the contracting party. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to support@polarbearleathergoods.shop and we will delete it.
4. Who else sees your data
We share personal data only with the categories of recipient below, and only what each needs:
- Our payment provider, which processes the payment and holds the card data we never see. It receives your name, email, billing country and the amount.
- Carriers, which receive the recipient name, delivery address and phone number in order to deliver, and for international parcels the customs description and value required by law.
- Our hosting and database providers, which store the data on our behalf under written processing terms.
- Our email provider, which sends order confirmations and replies.
- Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose, and only to the extent required.
5. Where your data is processed
We operate from the United States and our providers are principally in the United States and the European Union. Where personal data of individuals in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom is transferred to the United States, that transfer is made under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, with the UK Addendum where applicable, and with supplementary measures where our assessment finds them necessary. You may request a copy of the relevant safeguards from us.
6. Your rights
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland
You have the right to:
- be told what personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have data erased where we no longer have a reason to keep it;
- restrict or object to our processing, including any processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive data you gave us in a portable, machine-readable form;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out; and
- complain to your national supervisory authority.
If you are in California
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; the right to delete it; the right to correct it; the right to opt out of any sale or sharing; the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. We do not collect sensitive personal information as that term is defined by the CPRA.
We honour the Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of any sale or sharing and as a refusal of non-essential cookies, without asking you again.
Other US states
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and other states with comprehensive privacy statutes have equivalent rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and opt-out, and a right to appeal a refusal. We apply the same process to all of them.
How to exercise any of this
Write to support@polarbearleathergoods.shop with the words “privacy request” in the subject, or call +1 909 402 3517. We respond within 30 days, or 45 days where a statute allows an extension and we tell you why. We may ask you to confirm an order reference or the email address on file so that we do not disclose someone else’s data to you. Making a request costs nothing and changes nothing about how you are treated as a customer. If we refuse a request we explain why and how to appeal.
7. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Access to order records is limited to the people who need it to fulfil orders and answer you, and is protected by individual accounts. We keep no card data of any kind. No system is perfect, and if a breach affects your rights we will notify you and the relevant authority within the periods the law requires.
8. Automated decision-making
We do not carry out profiling or automated decision-making that produces legal effects for you. The Fold Finder runs entirely in your browser, stores nothing and sends us nothing.
9. Cookies
Cookies and similar technologies are covered separately in our Cookie Policy.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we update the effective date at the top and, where the change is material, tell subscribers and recent customers by email. Continuing to use the site after a change means the current version applies to you.
