Why it is like this
Nothing is sanded off and nothing is sprayed on, which is the whole point and also the reason it marks. A fingernail leaves a line on the first day. By the third month the lines have become a single darker tone.
Because there is no pigment layer, the colour comes from oxidation and from the oils in your hands. Two of these owned by two people stop looking like the same product within a year.
This one changes colour
Vegetable-tanned and uncoated: this article will darken with handling, take on a sheen where it is rubbed most, and keep a record of what you put it through. That change is the material behaving normally, not a fault, and it is not covered by — or excluded from — any return on the grounds of appearance.

Grain varies across a hide. Growth wrinkles, healed insect marks, range scars and shade differences between panels are characteristics of the material and are not grounds on their own for a defect claim. Every article is still covered by the ordinary 30-day return if you simply do not want it.
