Why it is like this
There is no lining, so there is nothing between you and the hide. The pockets are formed by folding the same panel back on itself and stitching only at the sides.
At 3.2 mm the leather is stiff out of the box and will not sit flat for the first few weeks. That is normal for a hide this thick and it resolves by itself.
This one changes colour
Vegetable-tanned and uncoated: this article will darken with handling, take on a sheen where it is rubbed most, and keep a record of what you put it through. That change is the material behaving normally, not a fault, and it is not covered by — or excluded from — any return on the grounds of appearance.

Grain varies across a hide. Growth wrinkles, healed insect marks, range scars and shade differences between panels are characteristics of the material and are not grounds on their own for a defect claim. Every article is still covered by the ordinary 30-day return if you simply do not want it.
