Why it is like this
The zip runs on a nylon coil tape with a solid brass pull. Coil rather than metal teeth because a metal zip against a passport cover in the same bag wins that argument.
Four millimetres of the extra thickness over the open folio is the zip itself. If that matters more to you than the closure does, take the B-01.
Natural marks are not faults
Grain varies across a hide. Growth wrinkles, healed insect marks, range scars and shade differences between panels are characteristics of the material and are not grounds on their own for a defect claim. Every article is still covered by the ordinary 30-day return if you simply do not want it.
